The feast-or-famine revenue rollercoaster
When you prove ROI, clients stop seeing video as a one-off expense. They invest consistently because they can see the direct impact on their bottom line. If they can see that for every dollar they put into video, they get ten back. Well, investing more into you and into video becomes a no-brainer.
Racing to the bottom on price
Results justify premium rates. When clients see a 10× return on their investment, price conversations disappear and value conversations begin. That's how you drive profit from video and get out of a race to the bottom just to land the gig.
Being treated as a vendor, not a partner
Data and results makes you indispensable. You transition from order-taker to strategic advisor when you're the one measuring and improving their marketing performance.
Never seeing more than 2 months ahead
Results create long-term contracts. Clients lock in annual deals when they know you're the key to predictable growth, not just pretty pictures. And that makes it a whole lot easier to invest into your business - and into you.
No marketing system for opportunities
Success stories sell themselves. Your results-focussed case studies become your sales force, attracting clients who already understand your value before the first call. You cut through the noise. Whilst everyone else is trading off their showreel and portfolio pieces, you're speaking to the one thing any client truly cares about - results.
Brands bringing video in-house
Challenging the status-quo of doing video for the sake of it allows you to position yourself as an expert and an investment that returns. In-house teams create content; you create measurable business outcomes they can't achieve alone.
The advance of AI in video
AI is happening right now, and it's happening fast. If you're selling off production value alone, you're putting yourself in a vulnerable position. Your expertise in connecting creative to commercial results is irreplaceable by any algorithm.
No creative control over content
Results give you strategic authority. When you own the metrics, you guide the creative because you know what drives performance. When you command results, you command creative control.
Why Is This All Free?
I want to help video production companies wrestle back the leverage that has been lost to agencies, in-house teams, growing competition and AI. As an industry, we're facing a do-or-die moment. The traditional model is broken.
In 2010, I started a video production company from my grandma's spare bedroom. What began as a solo freelance operation grew to become one of the leading production companies in the UK, working with brands like Adidas, Nike and Yves St. Laurent. We had everything that looked like success from the outside.
Then in 2018, it crashed and burned. Like many production companies that year, we filed for bankruptcy. But that failure taught me the most valuable lesson of my career: production companies don't know how to get and show results. We were creating beautiful work, winning awards, but we couldn't prove ROI. When I figured this out, everything changed.
Today, my video agency works with some of the world's biggest brands on retained contracts. Simply because we are able to get and show results. The one thing any client truly cares about. We don't compete on price or pretty pictures. We compete on measurable business outcomes.
I see production companies everywhere struggling with the same challenges I faced. Racing to the bottom, losing leverage, watching clients go in-house or to cheaper competitors. That's why I now work with video businesses to help them build sustainable, results-driven companies that thrive instead of just survive.
And that's why I make this training completely free. Because I believe that if we don't evolve as an industry, and if we don't learn to prove our value beyond beautiful visuals, we'll be replaced. By agencies, by in-house teams, by AI. This isn't about charity. It's about fighting for industry that I love.
